Prayer

POEM FOR THE MONTH

In the hour of my distress,

When temptations me oppress,

And when I my sins confess.

Sweet Spirit, comfort me!

When I lie within my bed.

Sick in heart, and sick in head,

And with doubts discomforted.

Sweet Spirit, comfort me!

When the house doth sigh and weep,

And the world is drowned in sleep.

Yet mine eyes the watch do keep;

Sweet Spirit, comfort me!

When (God knows) I'm tossed about,

Either with despair, or doubt;

Yet before the glass be out,

Sweet Spirit comfort me!

When the judgment is reveal'd.

And that open'd which was seal'd.

When to Thee I have appeal'd;

Sweet Spirit comfort me!

Prayer

Give us, O Lord God, a deep sense of thy holiness; how thou art of purer eyes than to behold iniquity and canst not overlook or pass by that which is evil. Give us, O Lord, a deep sense of thy wonderful love towards us; how thou wouldst not let us alone in our ruin but didst come after us, in the Person of thy Son Jesus Christ, to bring us back to our true home with thee. Quicken in us, O Lord, the spirit of gratitude, of loyalty, and of sacrifice, that we may seek in all things to please him who humbled himself for us, even to the death of the Cross, by dying unto sin and living unto righteousness, through the same Jesus Christ our Lord.

We continue to pray for Pricila and Priya.

We are here to pray for you.
